He got fired from a radio job for an piece he did about a Hammond organ owners club, where he edited all the old ladies to be saying things like “I love a big organ, especially when it’s a Hammond”.

It’s a POS. Just about every church where I grew up (very rural) had one stashed in the basement because they’re “too valuable to throw out they can’t give it away”. They were cheap, but that’s all they had going for them. They didn’t come with full manuals and the woefully inadequate pedals may as well not even be there.

I was going to make a joke about the size of the Hammond organ, but I would rather post this:

The biggest thing is the pedalboard being awful (and only 25 notes). I had a choice between a Hammond C100 and a Baldwin C630T.

I took the Baldwin, mainly for the AGO pedalboard (so it’s closer to the Rodgers 960D I have access to play at the church). I still like the touch of the Rodgers manuals (The Baldwin needs some refurbishment), and occasionally I scare the old people by pulling the Choir 8' Festival Trumpet (closest thing that has to a trompette en chamade).
